Grounded Games LLC (“Grounded Games,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates grounded.games and publishes games and applications that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Service.
“Personal Data” means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to a person. It can include online and device identifiers even when we do not know the person’s name. The practices that apply depend on the application, platform, version, features used, location, settings, and consent choices.

Information may come directly from you, automatically from your device or use of the Service, or from app stores, advertising platforms, and other services described below.
Website. Grounded Games does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies on this website. The website is hosted by GitHub Pages, which logs and stores visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes. See GitHub’s Privacy Statement.
App, device, and diagnostic information. Depending on the application and your settings, the Service and third-party services may process information such as IP address, device type, operating system, language, app version, platform, country or approximate location derived from technical signals, app-instance or device identifiers, and crash, performance, or other diagnostic data. This information is used to operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the Service and to understand device compatibility.
Game statistics. Some applications use Aptabase for anonymous game-progression statistics without persistent device identifiers to help us improve game balance.
Advertising. Some mobile applications may show advertisements. Advertising services may receive advertising identifiers (such as IDFA or GAID), IP address, approximate location derived from technical signals, app and device information, and ad-engagement data. They use this information to deliver ads, personalize ads where permitted, measure performance, and prevent fraud. Our applications do not request access to your device’s GPS or automatically collect precise location.
Game features and syncing. Some applications use Firebase or platform-connected game services for leaderboard scores, achievements, and cloud saves. Hex Words uses an automatically assigned Firebase identifier for Daily rankings and support credits. When you use Idle Iktah’s “Sync” feature to upload a save, Cloudflare temporarily stores your save and a Download Code. Sync does not create a Grounded Games account.
Purchases. Purchases are processed by the applicable platform, such as Apple, Google Play, or Steam. Grounded Games does not receive or store your payment-card details. We may receive purchase information such as the product, currency, quantity, and price to provide the purchase and related support.
Support and feedback. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and message so we can respond and provide support. If you submit in-app feedback, Sentry receives your message, a screenshot you can review and annotate before submission, and related diagnostics so we can review the feedback and troubleshoot issues. In-app feedback does not include your name or email address unless you include it in your message.
Providing information for support or the “Sync” feature is optional, but we cannot provide the requested response or feature without that information.

These services receive information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We require third parties with which we share user data to protect it consistently with this Privacy Policy and applicable law. Some providers process data on our behalf, while platforms and advertising providers may also determine how they process information under their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information when required by law or a valid request from a public authority, when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or security of Grounded Games or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We retain Personal Data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the feature used, the time needed to measure performance or resolve support and security issues, and legal recordkeeping requirements. We delete or anonymize information under our control when it is no longer needed, including through providers processing it for us. Providers acting independently apply their own retention policies.
Hex Words Daily scores and rank results reset each night; its Firebase authentication identifier may remain after the reset. Saves uploaded through Idle Iktah’s “Sync” feature are deleted after the code is used or after five minutes. Aggregated information that no longer identifies a person may be kept longer.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information involved. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
Grounded Games is based in the United States. We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required for transfers for which we are responsible, we rely on adequacy decisions or approved Standard Contractual Clauses, including applicable UK and Swiss terms. Contact us for information about these safeguards or a copy.
Consent and advertising choices. Where required, applications ask for consent before advertising storage and before using Personal Data for personalized advertising. Applications may use Google’s User Messaging Platform and provide Privacy Options in settings to review or change your choices. You can also use your device’s privacy controls or contact us to withdraw consent. Withdrawal affects future processing.
Legal bases. Where European data protection law applies, the legal basis depends on the purpose. We may process Personal Data as necessary to perform our contract with you, including providing the Service; to comply with legal obligations; for our legitimate interests in securing, troubleshooting, and improving the Service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms; and with your consent where consent is required.
Your rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete Personal Data; receive a portable copy; restrict processing; and withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Right to object. Where applicable, you can object to processing based on our legitimate interests and to the use of Personal Data for direct marketing.
To exercise an applicable right or ask about deletion, email support@grounded.games. We may need to verify your request. Where information is not linked to an account or other information that identifies you, we may be unable to locate it without sufficient identifying information.
Browser “Do Not Track” signals. This website does not track visitors across third-party websites and does not change its behavior in response to DNT signals. Advertising providers in our applications may collect activity across apps and services; use the application and platform privacy controls described above.
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 are not permitted to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information without any consent required by law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided Personal Data.
We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date at the top. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice within the Service where appropriate.
